Entrance to Camp Shaver [U.C.V. Reunion], Little Rock, Ark. [graphic]. 1911.

Entrance to Camp Shaver at City Park (now MacArthur Park) during the United Confederate Veterans Reunion, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, May 1911. Three armed soldiers stand in center street. On either side of the street are booths. A banners and flag are hung high over street. Strands of lights are strung from electrical poles. Consisting of approximately 1,330 tents, the camp provided free temporary housing for veterans during the United Confederate Veterans Reunion in Little Rock in May 1911. Veterans in the encampment christened the camp "Camp Shaver" for Colonel Robert G. Shaver of Mena, Polk County, Arkansas who recruited, organized and commanded the 7th Arkansas Regiment for the Confederate Army.
